Dori Zener is an Individual, Couple and Family Therapist at The Redpath Centre. She has been working with families affected by Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), learning disabilities and intellectual disabilities for over ten years. As a Social Worker in the Child Development Program at Holland Bloorview Kids Rehabilitation Hospital, she supported families after a new diagnosis of ASD. There, she spearheaded the implementation of 'Stepping Stones Triple P', an evidence-based parenting program that increases parenting confidence and reduces challenging behaviour in children with disabilities. Dori collaborated with professionals across the GTA to develop "Perspectives," an education program for interdisciplinary health care students to learn about providing collaborative care for people with Autism Spectrum Disorders and developmental disabilities across the lifespan. She has been interviewed by national media regarding the impact of diagnosis and support options for families of children with ASD. At The Redpath Centre, Dori uses a strength-based solutions-focused and cognitive behavioural therapy approaches to enhance the lives of her clients.

Specialization: Adolescents (13+ years) and adults with Autism Spectrum Disorders.  Individual counselling, couple relationships and family therapy. Particular interest working with girls and women on the spectrum.

Services Offered:  Individual, couple and family counseling using a solution-focused and cognitive behavioural therapy approach.  Learn how to understand and regulate emotions, build social insight, enhance relationships, increase self awareness and self confidence, set and achieve personal goals, strengthen parenting abilities and improve partner and family relationships. Skype and telephone appointments are available.
